PTE写作只有两种题型：write essay 和summarize written text，俗称大作文和小作文。题量分配一般来说是2小2大，3小1大这种搭配，但是近期考试的同学们普遍反映现在的PTE考试更倾向于2篇大作文了。小作文的部分有可能是两篇有可能是三篇，但是大作文考到两篇的概率大大增加了。

In the modern world, it is no longer necessary to use animals for food or use animal products, for instance, clothing and medicines. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
题目大意：
有观点认为现代社会没必要使用动物产品。同意反对？
思路：
一般同意反对类的题目，题目所给出的结论多数情况下要么是缺乏具体的前提，或是前提的合理性不足，所以一般选择反对的立场，缺乏前提或因果缺乏必然性就是反对的首要理由。
这道题目的前提是现代社会，推导出结论：现代社会就没必要用动物产品 —— 这种因果逻辑站不住脚，可以作为反驳题目观点的首选依据，进而再提出正确的思维应该是综合考虑不同的具体前提，才能得出具体的结论。
文章的主体段-1可以站在出题者的角度，分析对方为何会这样想；然后在主体段-2针对这一分析中的逻辑漏洞予以反驳。
范文：
The modern era has made it possible for many traditional products to be substituted by their modern counterparts. Therefore, it is argued that animals should no longer be the major source of meat or other commodity products because of the availability of the new replacement. From my perspective, such a view is irrational because the justification of animal products does not correlate with the so-called modernity.
Indeed, it is easy to understand why some people take it for granted that animals should no longer play an indispensable role in our diet or commodity products. From their perspective, the relentless advance of artificial products has successfully replaced many old-fashioned ones made of the substances extracted from animals. One compelling example in this trend is the wide employment of acrylic fiber as a substitute for wool in clothing industry.
This might be the case in some fields, however, I tend to say some successful cases of modern replacements are not persuasive enough to illustrate the entire picture. Those who laud the triumph of artificial products are oblivious to the fact that the justification of animal products does not hinges on how advanced the technology is. Rather, whether we should continue using animals in production is an issue of great complexity that needs to consider various determinants. Of all factors, the very problem that concerns me most is people’s preference for natural material over cheap replacement in laboratories. Let’s recur to the example of dress, compared with the synthetic chemicals, I still prefer the quality of wool or leather.
Another stronger argument against the statement in question is the apprehension of safety that might ensue should the natural ingredients from animals be replaced by chemical elements: what we cannot afford to ignore is that these materials might not marry with human bodies as well as their natural counterparts do.
In conclusion, it looks to me that there is no causal relationship between the advance of modern technology and the justification of traditional animal products.
